Picture 50p coins - Select designs from pull-down menu below
The majority of the 50p coins on this site have been circulated but are in EF condition. These 50p coins have become extremely collectable over the past few years largely because of:
1. Low mintage numbers (eg 'Kew Gardens' is extremely rare and sought after)
2. Their investment potential - Kew Gardens now sells for in excess of £250, and yet the majority of the new 50p coins are still only a few dollars to purchase.
The photographs are of the coins available on this website - most are uncirculated and have previously been in collections. Whilst not every individual coin has been captured, the images represent the quality and design to be expected. Because of their high polish and sheen, the images are hard to photograph and pick up every flaw, fingerprint and blemish that cannot be seen with the naked eye, so please keep in mind that the actual coins are considerably brighter and more vibrant than they may appear here. Some dealers use graphic illustrations to display their 50p coins for this reason, but I prefer to show them as they are and let the customer decide!
