Dual Dates: This coin bears dual dates, a departure from the usual single date. It features both 1992 and 1993, representing the significant period of the UK’s presidency and the establishment of the Single European Market.

Obverse Design: The obverse showcases the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. This effigy was used on circulating coinage during her reign.

Reverse Design: The beautifully crafted reverse design, by sculptor Mary Milner Dickens, features a conference table seen from above. Around the table are arranged twelve chairs, symbolizing the Council of Ministers. The United Kingdom is prominently represented at the head of the table, and the table itself displays twelve stars—the symbols of the European Community—placed in the geographic positions of the capital cities of the twelve member countries. A network of lines connecting the stars signifies the links of trade and commerce within the Community.

Mintage: Only 35,000 of these silver proof 50p coins were issued. Usually sells for around £230 - I've included an image of recent eBay prices as a guide
